Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman, who has become known for almost always accurate Apple leak news, focused on the watchOS 10 operating system in a post this week, which is expected to be unveiled at the WWDC 23 event in June.

In the past, all updates that came to Apple Watches focused on improvements and how to make users happier. Therefore, someone who upgraded from the Apple Watch 3 to the 5th generation did not feel like a stranger and had almost the same experience, aside from additional features.

Considering the design change that came with the iPhone X in the 10th year of iPhones, it seems inevitable to make a big change to smartwatches in their 10th year as well. However, it won’t be the expected change.

Just like with phones, there is nothing that can be added to the hardware of smartwatches that doesn’t already exist in these devices. Therefore, Gurman says that Apple will take radical steps to change the operating system from scratch in order to create a sense of innovation for the smartwatches it will sell next year.
